PCB giants Unimicron and Gold Circuit Electronics reported record-high August revenues, fueled by robust AI server demand and seasonal strength.
What Happened
Revenue Performance: PCB leader Unimicron reported August revenue of NT$17.746 billion, a 56.3% year-on-year increase, marking five consecutive months of record highs. Meanwhile, server board manufacturer Gold Circuit Electronics achieved a record NT$10.384 billion in August, marking its second consecutive month exceeding the NT$10 billion threshold.
AI Momentum: Unimicron is aggressively shifting its product mix, targeting an AI-related revenue share of over 60% this year, with potential to reach 70% in the second half. Gold Circuit Electronics is similarly benefiting from the rapid expansion of the AI server market, which is significantly bolstering its overall operational scale.
Capacity Expansion: To meet surging client demand, Gold Circuit Electronics is expanding production both domestically and abroad, with plans to increase Taiwan capacity by 50% and significantly ramp up Thai operations. Unimicron is focusing on optimizing ABF substrate utilization rates and yields to improve profit margins in the second half.
Market Outlook: Analysts expect both companies to see sequential growth throughout the second half of the year, driven by peak season demand and high-end product shipments. The ongoing supply constraints for ABF substrates are expected to provide further support for Unimicron's pricing power and profitability.
