What Happened
GCE Expansion: Server PCB leader Gold Circuit Electronics (GCE) has received approval under the 'Welcome Taiwanese Businesses Home' initiative to invest NT$13.8 billion in a new facility in the Zhongli Industrial Park. This strategic investment aims to expand capacity for high-end PCB products to meet the surging global demand for AI servers and advanced networking equipment.
Smart Manufacturing and Sustainability: The new plant will feature AI-driven data analytics and automated logistics to optimize production efficiency. GCE is also integrating carbon footprint tracking and sustainable supply chain management into its operations, with the project expected to create 900 local jobs and strengthen the resilience of Taiwan's electronics supply chain.
Dashun Sheet Metal Investment: Dashun Sheet Metal has also been approved for an investment of NT$270 million to upgrade its Tainan facilities. The company plans to implement intelligent robotic arms and AI-based engineering analysis systems, alongside solar energy installations, to maintain its competitive edge in the semiconductor and aerospace sectors.
Economic Impact: The 'Investment Taiwan' initiatives have now attracted 1,813 companies with a total investment of approximately NT$2.78 trillion, creating nearly 170,000 jobs. These investments underscore the ongoing trend of industrial upgrading and smart manufacturing integration across Taiwan's high-tech landscape.
