Driven by major investments from Taiwanese PCB manufacturers, Thailand's PCB production value is projected to reach a record $6.09 billion by 2026.
What Happened
Industry Expansion: Led by major investments from companies like Zhen Ding-KY, Unimicron, Gold Circuit Electronics, and Compeq, Thailand has solidified its position as the largest PCB manufacturing hub in Southeast Asia. By 2025, the country's PCB production value reached $5.06 billion, accounting for approximately 5.4% of the global total.
Growth Drivers: The surge in production is fueled by the ramp-up of new capacity from Taiwanese and Chinese firms, focusing on high-end applications such as AI servers, high-speed networking, and satellite communications. The global trend of supply chain diversification continues to accelerate manufacturing shifts to the region.
Future Projections: The Taiwan Printed Circuit Association forecasts that continued demand for AI infrastructure and cloud services will push Thailand's PCB production value to $6.09 billion by 2026, representing a 20.4% year-over-year increase.
Policy Support: The Thai government remains committed to improving the investment climate through its Board of Investment (BOI). As of the first quarter of 2026, BOI application values have exceeded $31.8 billion, reflecting strong international confidence in the country's electronics manufacturing sector.
