Taiwan's Digital Shareholder Gift Initiative Gains Traction with 44 Companies Adopting eGift

Taiwan's FSC reports that 44 companies have adopted the new eGift service for shareholder meetings, with convenience store vouchers proving to be the most popular choice among investors.

What Happened

Digital Transformation: The Financial Supervisory Commission's eGift service, launched in March, has seen strong adoption with 234 companies signed up and 44 actively utilizing the platform for shareholder meetings.

Boosting Engagement: Companies using the eGift system reported record-breaking electronic voting figures, with the electronic voting ratio reaching 61.8% of total attendance, marking a significant year-over-year improvement.

Investor Participation: The initiative has been particularly popular among shareholders holding at least 1,000 shares, who saw their electronic voting participation surge by 214.9% compared to the previous year.

Preferred Rewards: Convenience store gift cards emerged as the top choice for issuers, accounting for nearly 80% of the digital gifts provided, followed by coffee and dairy product vouchers.
