Semiconductor testing firm iST reported August revenue of NT$370 million, but remains optimistic about H2 growth driven by AI, CPO, and advanced process demand.

What Happened

August Financial Results: iST reported a consolidated revenue of NT$370 million for August, representing a 7.3% monthly decline and a 7.9% year-over-year decrease. The cumulative revenue for the first eight months of the year reached NT$3.038 billion, down 3.66% compared to the same period last year.

Growth Drivers: The company anticipates a sequential recovery in the second half of the year, fueled by increasing project volume in AI, Co-Packaged Optics (CPO), and advanced semiconductor processes. Higher complexity in testing requirements for AI ASICs, HPC, and Chiplet technologies continues to bolster demand for their specialized verification services.

Strategic Initiatives: iST is aggressively expanding its CPO verification capabilities, with new equipment scheduled for installation in the third quarter. The company aims to gradually improve its gross margin toward the 30% threshold by leveraging its expertise in reliability, failure, and material analysis.

Long-term Outlook: Looking toward 2026, iST has identified 2nm process technology, AI high-performance computing, and silicon photonics as its three primary growth engines. The firm is actively securing orders for ASIC verification and expects its silicon photonics platform to contribute more significantly as market demand matures.
