AI Server Demand Fuels Power Component Surge for Eris and Asin, Equipment Lead Times Stretch to 8 Months

Electronic Technology · Semiconductors · economic_daily · 2026-11-05

Surging demand for power components in AI servers has pushed Eris and Asin to full capacity, with order visibility extending through next year and equipment lead times hitting eight months.

What Happened

Industry Boom: Eris General Manager Chu Hung-chun noted that after thirty years in the power diode sector, he has never witnessed such a strong market environment. Driven by the distributed power architecture of AI servers, demand for power components has spiked, keeping production lines at full capacity with orders visible through the end of next year.

Supply Chain Constraints: Eris and Asin Chairman Chang En-chieh highlighted critical shortages in manufacturing equipment, with lead times for wire bonders and dicers extending from two months at the start of the year to eight months. The companies are currently focused on de-bottlenecking existing production lines to maximize output amidst these delivery delays.

Strategic Synergy: Supported by Eris and major shareholder Diodes, Asin Technology has successfully overcome process bottlenecks and strengthened its 6-inch wafer platform. Asin now serves as a key chip supplier for both Eris and Diodes' packaging facilities, positioning the company for significant long-term growth.

Comprehensive Product Portfolio: Asin has evolved into a full-service manufacturer of 4, 5, and 6-inch power semiconductor wafers, covering rectification, power control, and protection components. Through strategic acquisitions and integration, the company has solidified its market position to support the group's expansion in industrial control and AI applications.
