Fundraising Milestone: WT Microelectronics has successfully completed a dual-offering of global depositary receipts (GDRs) and unsecured convertible bonds, raising a total of $935 million. This transaction marks the largest capital-raising effort in the company's history, reflecting strong investor confidence.
Strategic Allocation: The proceeds will be utilized to cover foreign currency procurement costs and repay existing bank loans. By strengthening its balance sheet, the company aims to enhance its global supply chain solutions and maintain its competitive edge in the semiconductor distribution sector.
Market Outlook: CEO Eric Cheng emphasized that the company is well-positioned to capitalize on the robust demand for AI semiconductors and the recovery in the industrial and automotive sectors. The new capital provides the necessary flexibility to pursue these growth opportunities effectively.
Offering Details: The GDRs were priced at $29 per unit and listed on the Luxembourg Stock Exchange, while the zero-coupon convertible bonds were listed on the Singapore Exchange. The conversion price for the bonds was set at NT$224.54 per share, representing a 22.5% premium over the GDR conversion price.
