Technical Milestone: PlayNitride is prioritizing the mass production of its tandem Micro LED architecture to address high power consumption issues in traditional TFT backplanes. By splitting LED units and connecting them in series, the company has successfully reduced drive current by nearly 50%.
Energy Efficiency: The new architecture significantly lowers power usage across RGB colors, with watch applications already seeing a 54% reduction. The company aims to further optimize power consumption to 68mW by late 2027, positioning it to outperform OLED displays.
Market Expansion: Micro LED technology is already appearing in commercial products ranging from large-format TVs to automotive displays. PlayNitride’s one-stop solution allows clients to integrate these advanced displays without requiring significant changes to existing manufacturing processes.
