Liang-Dern Electric reports a positive outlook for its low-earth orbit satellite business, supported by new orders and significant capacity expansion in Vietnam.

What Happened

Operational Overview: During its investor conference, Liang-Dern Electric spokesperson Jiang Wen-yu noted that despite high raw material costs, rising average selling prices (ASP) are expected to keep annual revenue stable. The company is strategically shifting its focus toward high-growth sectors like low-earth orbit (LEO) satellites and AI data centers.

Satellite Business: The outlook for LEO satellite products remains strong. DC cables for a major US client are expected to begin testing and implementation in Q3, while AC cables are currently undergoing certification. Another major US cloud provider has increased its LEO satellite product share to 25%, with ongoing discussions to further boost shipment volumes.

Capacity Expansion: To meet long-term demand, Liang-Dern is aggressively expanding its Vietnam facility. The first phase has a planned monthly capacity of 1.8 million units, while the second phase is designed for 6.5 million units, significantly enhancing the company's ability to supply AC and DC cables to global clients.

R&D Initiatives: The company is leveraging its expertise in outdoor waterproofing and high-power wire harnesses—developed for the satellite sector—to expand into solar energy and energy storage markets. Additionally, R&D for AI data center and server rack components is underway, with results expected by the fourth quarter.
