TPK-KY warns that rising component costs may dampen consumer demand, while the company continues to diversify its client base to mitigate operational risks.

What Happened

Market Outlook: TPK-KY warned during its earnings call that rising prices for memory and other components are prompting brands to pull forward inventory, but sustained cost increases may dampen overall consumer demand in the second half of the year.

Client Diversification: To mitigate market volatility, TPK-KY has successfully reduced its reliance on its largest client to 22.2% of total revenue, with its top three clients now each accounting for 18% to 22% of sales, creating a more balanced and resilient business structure.

Product Performance: Second-quarter shipment momentum was driven by inventory stocking, particularly in the 11-to-16-inch laptop and tablet segment, which accounted for 39% to 52% of revenue, while ultra-large products over 16 inches saw an 8.9% quarter-over-quarter increase.

Financial Results: The company reported Q2 consolidated revenue of NT$19.24 billion; despite an operating loss due to one-time charges at its subsidiary Ilitek, strong non-operating income helped drive net profit to NT$815 million, or NT$2 per share.
