Solid-state capacitor manufacturer APAQ plans to ramp up its CAP production capacity by 70% by H1 next year, driven by strong demand from AI server applications.

What Happened

Market Trends: The rising power requirements of AI servers have tightened the supply of high-capacity MLCCs, leading to an increased adoption of CAP solutions as a complementary and stable alternative.

Capacity Expansion: APAQ is aggressively scaling its CAP production, aiming to increase monthly capacity from 70 million units to 120 million units by the first half of next year to support GPU and ASIC architectures.

Product Strategy: The company is also promoting SMLC products to replace tantalum capacitors, leveraging the cost and supply chain advantages of aluminum materials to penetrate server, laptop, and automotive markets.

Capital Expenditure: APAQ plans to adjust its capital expenditure to NT$600-800 million for next year, shifting its investment focus from V-Chip to high-growth CAP and SMLC production lines to optimize its product mix.
