Homeplus has secured a 64.4% consent rate for its rehabilitation plan as government agencies agree to installment payments ahead of a key court meeting.
What Happened
Consent Rate Milestone: Homeplus has reached a 64.4% consent rate for its rehabilitation plan, driven by government agencies agreeing to installment payments for public interest claims. This figure marks a significant increase from the 59% recorded late last month.
Creditor Meeting: The Seoul Rehabilitation Court is holding a meeting this afternoon to confirm the final approval of the plan from secured creditors, unsecured creditors, and shareholders. The outcome of this meeting is critical for the company's future.
Approval Requirements: To pass the plan, the company requires at least 75% approval from secured creditors, 66.7% from unsecured creditors, and 50% from shareholders. Homeplus management expects the final consent rate to rise further as more creditors participate before the meeting concludes.
Judicial Review: Following the meeting, the court will decide whether to authorize the rehabilitation plan based on the results. While public interest creditors do not have voting rights, the court has mandated their consent to assess the feasibility of the rehabilitation process.
