Wistron reports record-breaking August revenue, yet faces market pressure, while Wiwynn sees shares rebound following a new shareholder support initiative.
What Happened
Revenue Performance: Wistron's August revenue surged to NT$460.065 billion, a record high that positions it as the second-largest local contract manufacturer, surpassing Quanta. Wiwynn also maintained strong momentum, marking its third consecutive month of record-breaking revenue figures.
Expansion Strategy: To capitalize on AI server demand, Wistron is investing approximately $220 million in new facilities across the U.S. and Vietnam. The company successfully raised $1.47 billion via a GDR issuance to fund these expansions, with the Texas D2 plant slated to begin production next year.
Shareholder Support: Addressing concerns over fractional shares, Wiwynn's management introduced a remedial plan allowing small shareholders holding 1 to 15 shares to subscribe to one additional share at a price of NT$10. This initiative aims to protect the interests of the company's significant base of retail investors.
Market Reaction: Despite strong fundamentals, Wistron's stock faced selling pressure during the session. Conversely, Wiwynn's shares showed resilience, rebounding into positive territory as investors responded favorably to the company's proactive shareholder relations.
