Samsung Asset Management will temporarily increase dividend payouts for its KODEX Korea REITs Infrastructure ETF through year-end, reflecting special dividends.
What Happened
Dividend Increase: Samsung Asset Management announced a temporary increase in dividend payouts for its KODEX Korea REITs Infrastructure ETF through the end of December. This adjustment is designed to pass on the special dividends received from the Koramco The One REIT, which is included in the ETF's portfolio.
Source of Payouts: The special dividend is funded by the capital gains from the sale of the Hana Securities Building, which was completed by Koramco The One REIT in June. As a result, the monthly dividend yield is expected to rise to approximately 1.4%, significantly higher than the previous 0.6% to 0.7% range.
Eligibility Requirements: The increased dividends will be distributed in four installments between now and December. Investors must purchase the ETF by the 11th, which is the day before the ex-dividend date, to qualify for the adjusted payouts.
Strategic Significance: The firm highlighted this as a prime example of how REIT investments can capture gains from asset disposals. Investors are encouraged to recognize the benefits of this structure, particularly regarding tax separation and enhanced cash flow.
