Footwear manufacturer Lai Yih-KY maintains its lead in sector profitability, with improving order visibility and new brand partnerships driving growth.

What Happened

First-Half Financials: Lai Yih-KY reported H1 revenue of NT$17.901 billion and a net profit of NT$1.13 billion, resulting in an EPS of NT$4.53. Despite headwinds from global inflation and geopolitical tensions impacting consumer confidence, the company remains the most profitable in the footwear sector.

Market and Order Momentum: The company noted that as client inventory levels normalize, order momentum has begun to recover. With order visibility extending beyond three months, management expects Q3 to outperform Q2, and the second half to be stronger than the first.

Brand Client Strategy: Strong demand from key clients like HOKA and Adidas is driving capacity expansion. Furthermore, a new international brand client is expected to begin shipments by year-end, with volume ramping up next year to provide long-term revenue growth.

Capacity Expansion: To meet demand and mitigate geopolitical risks, Lai Yih is continuing to expand its Indonesian facilities. The second plant in Indonesia is already coming online, with a planned total capacity of 10 million pairs to support future growth.
