Footwear manufacturer Lai Yih-KY reported its H1 financial results, showing a strong Q2 margin recovery and a positive outlook driven by robust orders from HOKA and Adidas.

What Happened

Financial Performance: Lai Yih-KY reported H1 consolidated revenue of 17.901 billion TWD with a net profit of 1.13 billion TWD, translating to an EPS of 4.53 TWD. Despite a year-on-year decline, the company remains the most profitable player in the footwear sector, with Q2 gross margins improving to 17.41% due to an optimized product mix.

Market Outlook: Management noted that while H1 was hampered by inflation and geopolitical tensions affecting consumer confidence, the situation is improving. With order visibility now exceeding three months, the company expects Q3 to outperform Q2 and anticipates a stronger performance for the second half of the year.

Client Momentum: Growth is being fueled by the popularity of the HOKA brand and aggressive restocking by Adidas, with capacity expansion plans in place for both. Additionally, the company expects to begin shipping for a new major international client by the end of this year, providing a new growth catalyst for 2025.

Capacity Expansion: To mitigate risks and meet rising demand, Lai Yih is aggressively expanding its Indonesian footprint. The second Indonesian facility is currently ramping up production, while a third facility is in the planning stages with construction expected to commence next year, each targeting an annual capacity of 10 million pairs.
