Episil-Precision reports that its GaN capacity is fully utilized due to AI demand, while its SiC business is poised for a significant revenue rebound.

What Happened

Capacity and Demand: General Manager Liu Tsan-wen stated that GaN capacity utilization has exceeded 100% due to strong demand from AI data centers, with customer orders doubling current capacity. The company is actively evaluating expansion plans and prioritizing production efficiency to meet immediate demand.

SiC Recovery: The Silicon Carbide (SiC) business is experiencing a V-shaped rebound, with second-half revenue expected to more than double compared to the first half. As AI server power requirements increase, SiC demand is rising, and the company expects full capacity utilization by next year.

Strategic Shifts: Episil-Precision plans to consolidate its 4-inch and 5-inch production lines by November, focusing resources on 6-inch and 8-inch lines. AI-related revenue is expected to grow from 5% in the first half to over 10% in the second half, with further growth targeted for next year.

8-inch Progress: The 8-inch SiC production line, developed in partnership with Vanguard International Semiconductor, has achieved yields exceeding 95% and is slated for trial production by year-end. The company aims to double its 8-inch monthly capacity to 3,000 wafers to meet future market needs.
