The new Corton Rosenberg Global Macro Fund, trading as ROSY, brings David Rosenberg's model portfolio to retail investors with a focus on capital preservation.
What Happened
New Investment Vehicle: The Corton Rosenberg Global Macro Fund is set to launch on the Toronto Stock Exchange under the ticker ROSY. This actively managed ETF aims to provide investors with broader access to the investment strategies developed by economist David Rosenberg and his firm, Rosenberg Research.
Strategy and Philosophy: Unlike many ETFs that prioritize aggressive growth, this fund emphasizes capital preservation and risk management. By utilizing a multi-strategy global macro approach, the fund invests across equities, fixed income, commodities, and currencies to achieve consistent, absolute positive returns.
Market Positioning: The fund is designed to mirror the existing 'Rosie Model Portfolio,' which has demonstrated strong performance since its inception in 2023. Management believes that the current normalized interest rate environment makes a 60/40 asset allocation strategy relevant and viable for investors once again.
Operational Structure: Corton Capital Inc. will manage the fund, maintaining a close advisory relationship with Rosenberg Capital Advisory. The ETF charges a 0.8 percent annual management fee and seeks to minimize portfolio volatility while maintaining a high Sharpe ratio throughout the market cycle.
