Young Optics announced a return to profitability for the first nine months of the year, though it warns of a potential slowdown in shipments for the fourth quarter.

What Happened

Financial Results: Young Optics reported a third-quarter net profit of NT$1.22 million, marking its third consecutive quarter of profitability. For the first nine months of the year, the company achieved a net profit of NT$12.34 million, or NT$0.11 per share, reflecting a turnaround from the previous year.

Operational Outlook: The company expects a softer fourth quarter as logistics projector lens clients delay or adjust their product plans. Furthermore, as the year-end approaches, client inventory stocking has become more conservative, leading to a projected decline in overall shipments compared to Q3.

Product Performance: While smart home and automotive LiDAR lens shipments showed growth in the third quarter, 3D printing product shipments slowed due to a transition between old and new models. The company is currently focusing on testing and validating new models to stabilize future output.

Strategic Development: Progress is being made in the CPO fiber array unit (FAU) business, with MT ferrules currently in trial production and expected to contribute to revenue by early next year. Other technologies, including molded glass lens arrays and optical transceiver modules, are currently undergoing concept verification.
