Pei-Er Biomedical shares hit a record high on their final trading day before a stock split, as the company pushes for rapid CAR-T therapy approval.
What Happened
Strong Market Performance: Pei-Er Biomedical shares surged to a record high of NT$1,490 today, closing in on the valuation of industry leader PharmaEssentia. Analysts attribute the rally to both the company's promising CAR-T pipeline and a highly concentrated shareholder structure among insiders and major investors.
Stock Split Schedule: The company is proceeding with a par value reduction from NT$10 to NT$0.5 per share. August 26 is the final day for trading under the current structure, with the stock set to resume trading under the new par value on September 7.
Regulatory Milestones: The company's PL001 CAR-T therapy has passed interim Phase II clinical analysis and is currently under a dedicated regulatory guidance program. Management aims to leverage conditional approval pathways to secure a temporary drug license by late this year or early next year.
Manufacturing Capacity: To support commercialization, the company's subsidiary, Taiwan Cell Manufacturing Corporation (tcmc), recently inaugurated a new facility. The plant is designed to mass-produce CAR-T therapies, with an initial capacity to treat approximately 300 lymphoma patients annually.
