Nan Ya Plastics shares reached a record high of NT$250 as the company reports strong July earnings and benefits from surging demand for AI-related materials.
What Happened
Financial Performance: Nan Ya Plastics reported a net profit of NT$3.168 billion for July, translating to an EPS of NT$0.4. The company's first-half performance shows a significant turnaround compared to the previous year, with cumulative EPS reaching NT$5.17.
Growth Drivers: The company is benefiting from the global AI boom, which has triggered a surge in demand for high-end materials used in data centers. Nan Ya's comprehensive supply chain, including PCB materials and ABF substrates, has allowed it to capitalize on widespread supply shortages.
Investment Contributions: Beyond core operations, Nan Ya's subsidiary, Nanya Technology, has seen rapid profit growth due to the widening memory supply-demand gap. Increased investment income from Formosa Petrochemical also contributed to the company's record-breaking second-quarter results.
Market Reaction: Driven by robust earnings, Nan Ya's stock price surged to a record high of NT$250 during intraday trading. Despite some profit-taking that pushed the closing price to NT$234.5, the stock has gained more than 300% year-to-date.
