Giant Group reported a 2.9% year-over-year revenue increase in September, driven by robust demand in China that helped offset challenges in the US market.
What Happened
Revenue Recovery: Giant Group reported consolidated revenue of NT$5.368 billion for September, a 2.9% year-over-year increase. The cumulative revenue decline for the first nine months has narrowed to 5.1%, indicating a gradual recovery in demand within the bicycle industry.
Strong China Performance: Giant's proprietary brands saw strong sales in China, particularly in mountain bikes and e-bikes. Since turning positive in the second quarter, growth in the Chinese market has accelerated, serving as a primary engine for the group's overall performance.
Challenges in Western Markets: While the European market remained flat, the US market continued to face headwinds from the WRO incident and geopolitical tensions, which dampened consumer confidence. OEM business also saw a slight decline due to reduced customer orders and ongoing supply chain issues.
Future Outlook: Despite challenges in the US and Europe, the robust demand in China remains a critical pillar for the group's operations. Giant continues to monitor global market dynamics and is adjusting its product strategies to navigate regional market fluctuations.
