Delta Electronics shares have plummeted 50% from their May high, causing the company to lose its spot in the top three largest firms by market cap on the TWSE.
What Happened
Share Price Decline: Delta Electronics has faced significant selling pressure recently, closing at NT$1,270 today, an eight-month low. The stock has now halved in value compared to its peak of NT$2,585 recorded in late May.
Market Cap Shift: According to the Taiwan Stock Exchange, Delta's market capitalization has fallen to NT$3.29 trillion, allowing Foxconn to overtake it with a valuation of NT$3.45 trillion. Delta has consequently dropped to fourth place in the rankings, trailing TSMC, MediaTek, and Foxconn.
Financial Results: The company reported third-quarter net profit of NT$23.495 billion, marking a 26.3% year-over-year increase but a 6.5% sequential decline. Gross margin also dipped to 34.08%, hitting a six-quarter low due to various operational headwinds.
Future Outlook: Chairman Cheng Ping acknowledged that while AI demand remains robust, supply chain constraints such as labor and material shortages have hindered smooth quarterly growth. Despite these hurdles, the company maintains a positive outlook, projecting higher revenue for the fourth quarter and continued growth into next year.
