St. Shine Optical reported record-breaking Q3 earnings as increased production capacity at its Malaysian facility boosted shipments to European and American markets.
What Happened
Financial Results: St. Shine Optical posted a Q3 net profit of NT$398 million, a 55.62% increase year-on-year, with a record-high quarterly EPS of NT$6.32. For the first nine months, net profit reached NT$930 million, marking a 46.26% growth and setting a new record for the period.
Profit Drivers: The strong performance was driven by robust core operations, foreign exchange gains, and tax incentives from investments in Malaysia. Despite a slight dip in operating margin due to concentrated marketing expenses, the gross margin remained strong at 46.67%.
Market Strategy: Demand for silicone hydrogel colored contact lenses in Asia remains strong, with Japan being a key contributor. Increased capacity at the Malaysian plant has allowed for greater flexibility, enabling the company to fulfill rising orders for clear lenses from European and American markets.
Future Outlook: The company is continuing its expansion plan, aiming to increase monthly capacity to 75 million lenses by Q1 of next year. Management expects Q4 revenue to exceed Q3, supported by steady demand in Asia and increased shipments to Western markets.
