Franklin Hua-Mei Investment Trust is launching the FT Core AI Power and Computing ETF, focusing on the infrastructure, hardware, and software driving the AI revolution.
What Happened
Shifting Focus to Infrastructure: The rapid expansion of generative AI has significantly increased electricity demand for data centers. Market attention is shifting from chips and servers to the underlying power and energy infrastructure, with IEA projections suggesting data center electricity consumption will double by 2030.
ETF Investment Strategy: The FT Core AI Power and Computing ETF (009831) is set to list on October 29, tracking the Solactive Core AI Power and Computing Technology Index. The fund allocates 40% to power supply chains, with the remaining 60% split equally between AI hardware, software, and applications.
Comprehensive Industry Exposure: The ETF covers a wide range of sectors, including electrical grid infrastructure, nuclear power, uranium, processor design, high-bandwidth memory, and cloud infrastructure. This approach allows investors to capture value across the entire AI ecosystem.
Market Growth Outlook: With global AI spending projected to reach $2.67 trillion by 2026, infrastructure remains a primary driver of investment. The fund is designed to provide investors with a strategic tool to participate in the long-term growth of the global AI industry.
