LuxNet reported a record-breaking August revenue of NT$520 million, driven by surging demand for silicon photonics in AI data centers and aggressive capacity expansion.
What Happened
Revenue Performance: LuxNet announced an August revenue of NT$520 million, marking a record high for the second consecutive month with a 180% year-on-year increase. Cumulative revenue for the first eight months reached NT$3.147 billion, reflecting a 129% growth compared to the previous year.
Capacity Expansion: To address the supply-demand gap in AI data centers, LuxNet has approved capital expenditures of up to NT$2.27 billion for capacity expansion. The company has secured long-term indium phosphide substrate contracts with US and Japanese suppliers, aiming to increase production capacity to 2.5 times this year's level by next year.
Product Development: The company's 1.6T silicon photonics laser chips have entered mass production, with development of 3.2T and higher-power chips underway for Tier-1 global clients. Management expects silicon photonics shipments to maintain sequential growth over the coming quarters.
Market Outlook: Analysts remain bullish on LuxNet, citing the ongoing upgrade of high-speed optical modules and rising CPO penetration. Despite industry-wide supply constraints for indium phosphide, LuxNet’s strategic procurement is expected to support a strong growth trajectory over the next two years.
