FamilyMart's restaurant division posts a 25.9% increase in net profit for the first three quarters, driven by festive dining demand and successful brand marketing.
What Happened
Record Earnings: FamilyMart's restaurant division reported a net profit of NT$56.17 million for the third quarter, a 12.6% year-on-year increase, with earnings per share (EPS) of NT$2.2. For the first three quarters, net profit reached NT$162 million, up 25.9% year-on-year, with an EPS of NT$6.35, nearly matching the total profit for the previous year.
Revenue Growth: Consolidated revenue for the third quarter was NT$781 million, a 9.8% increase, while cumulative revenue for the first nine months reached NT$2.249 billion, up 11.6%. The company attributed this growth to strong demand during the summer holidays and festive periods like Father's Day and the Mid-Autumn Festival.
Brand Strategy: The company's brands—Ootoya, bb.q CHICKEN, and IKIGAI Yakiniku—leveraged seasonal menus, IP collaborations, and thematic sets to attract diverse customer segments. Specifically, bb.q CHICKEN's marketing efforts involving Korean pop idols have successfully expanded its reach among younger consumers.
Q4 Outlook: Entering the peak season for dining, the company expects continued growth driven by department store anniversary sales and year-end gatherings. Management remains optimistic that these factors will sustain high customer traffic and revenue performance through the fourth quarter.
