Century Energy has posted record profits for the first nine months of the year, driven by its offshore wind EPC projects, while announcing a strategic pivot into nuclear and natural gas energy sectors.
What Happened
Financial Performance: Century Energy reported a net profit of NT$2.257 billion for the first three quarters of the year, a 75.7% year-over-year increase, resulting in an EPS of NT$12.18. This performance has already surpassed the company's total profit for the previous year, despite a slight compression in gross margin to 20.5% during the third quarter due to the shift toward large-scale EPC projects.
Growth Strategy: The company has outlined a three-pronged growth strategy focused on deepening its domestic market share in Taiwan, expanding into Asia-Pacific markets like Japan and the Philippines, and diversifying its energy portfolio. A key goal is to increase the revenue contribution from EPC projects to 90% within three years while aiming for overseas revenue to exceed 10% within five years.
Energy Diversification: Centering its strategy on the nuclear supply chain, the company has partnered with Walsin Lihwa, Kaori Heat Treatment, and Taifeng Trade to establish "Walsin Century Nuclear Energy Systems." This move marks the company's transition into a multi-energy provider, leveraging its expertise in precision welding and heavy-duty port facilities to enter the SMR and natural gas pressure vessel markets.
Future Outlook: Looking ahead, Century Energy targets a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of over 20% for the next five years and aims for a long-term ROE exceeding 15%. The company remains committed to a shareholder-friendly policy, maintaining a dividend payout ratio of at least 60% with semi-annual distributions, while focusing on operational resilience through client and industry diversification.
