KB Securities Launches Retirement Account Service for Individual Government Bonds

Finance · Investment Banks/Brokers · yonhap_finance · 2026-09-04

KB Securities has introduced a new service allowing investors to trade individual government bonds directly through their retirement pension accounts.

What Happened

Service Launch: KB Securities has officially launched a trading service that enables direct investment in individual government bonds through retirement pension accounts. This initiative aligns with the new government policy allowing individuals to invest in 10-year and 20-year sovereign bonds via their pension portfolios.

Subscription Process: Bonds are generally issued on the 20th of each month, with a subscription period spanning the seven business days prior. The inaugural subscription window is set for the 9th through the 15th, with the official issuance date scheduled for the 19th.

Yield and Redemption: Investors holding the bonds until maturity will receive interest calculated at a compound rate, combining the coupon rate and an additional spread. Early redemption is permitted after one year, though it will be calculated at a simple interest rate without the additional spread.

Access and Support: Clients can access detailed information and participate in the subscription process through the KB Securities website, the 'KB M-able' mobile trading system, or by visiting local branches and customer service centers.
