Blockchain analytics firm Chainalysis has identified over 14,000 investigative leads by tracking networks using crypto for child sexual abuse material.

Criminal Tracking: Blockchain analytics firm Chainalysis has successfully tracked networks using cryptocurrency for Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM), securing 14,300 investigative leads. The project was conducted under the name 'Operation Lighthouse.'
International Cooperation: The operation involved major global law enforcement agencies, including the U.S. NCFTA, Europol, the Australian Federal Police, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, and the UK's National Crime Agency. Global cooperation proved essential in dismantling these criminal networks.
Key Findings: Chainalysis analyzed over 29,000 cryptocurrency addresses and more than 100 platforms, identifying over 7,700 suspect accounts spread across 125 countries. This case demonstrates the effectiveness of blockchain transparency in criminal investigations.
Future Outlook: Kwon Jun-hyuk, head of Chainalysis Korea, stated that this achievement is a significant example of converting cryptocurrency fund flow data into actionable investigative leads. The company plans to continue collaborating with domestic and international law enforcement agencies to eradicate such crimes.
