Wistron August Revenue Hits Record High; Expands US and Vietnam Operations

Electronic Technology · Computer Communications · economic_daily · 2026-09-09

Wistron reported record-breaking August revenue driven by strong AI server demand and announced significant capital investments in its US and Vietnam facilities.

What Happened

Record Revenue: Wistron's consolidated revenue for August reached NT$460.65 billion, marking a 49.3% monthly increase and a 166% year-on-year surge. This record performance was primarily driven by robust shipments of AI-related products, bringing the year-to-date revenue to NT$2.51 trillion.

Global Expansion: The board has approved several capital expenditure projects, including a $150 million capital injection into its US subsidiary to support Texas operations and a $59.05 million investment in Vietnam for facility upgrades. Additionally, the company is leasing new space in Texas to bolster its North American after-sales service capabilities.

Market Outlook: The company expects AI server shipments to continue growing, with Q4 projected to be the peak of the year. Conversely, the PC segment is expected to see a double-digit decline in the second half of the year due to soft market demand, while general-purpose servers are expected to remain flat.

Corporate Governance: Wistron announced plans to outsource its shareholder services to Yuanta Securities starting January 1, 2027. This move is aimed at enhancing the quality of service provided to shareholders as the company continues its global operational expansion.
