Driven by TSMC and the AI supply chain, Taiwan's listed companies hit a record NT$6 trillion in August revenue, with analysts projecting annual profits to reach NT$7 trillion.
What Happened
Record-Breaking Revenue: Taiwan's listed companies achieved a milestone in August, with total revenue exceeding NT$6 trillion for the first time, reaching NT$6.07 trillion. The cumulative revenue for the first eight months of the year reached NT$41.9 trillion, representing a 36.4% year-on-year growth.
AI Supply Chain Dominance: The growth was primarily driven by TSMC and the broader AI supply chain, with Foxconn, TSMC, Wistron, Quanta, and WT Microelectronics leading the top five. A total of 162 companies reported record-high monthly revenue, underscoring the robust momentum in the technology sector.
Optimistic Profit Outlook: Analysts suggest that as NVIDIA's new AI platform enters a massive shipping phase, the momentum for the supply chain will continue to accelerate. Projections indicate that earnings per share (EPS) for Taiwanese listed companies could see a 74% year-on-year increase by 2026.
Targeting NT$7 Trillion: Experts believe the strong performance will support the Taiwan stock market in challenging historical highs. With robust AI demand and rising component prices, total annual corporate profit is expected to reach the NT$7 trillion threshold.
