Electronic Technology · Semiconductors · economic_daily · 2026-10-07

Sino-American Silicon Products achieved record-breaking revenue for the first nine months of the year, driven by robust demand from AI infrastructure investments.

What Happened

Revenue Performance: Sino-American Silicon Products (SAS) reported a September consolidated revenue of NT$7.165 billion, bringing its third-quarter revenue to NT$20.879 billion. Cumulative revenue for the first nine months reached a record high of NT$61.38 billion, while its subsidiary, GlobalWafers, recorded NT$44.07 billion for the same period.

Market Drivers: The company noted that expanding global AI infrastructure investments have bolstered demand across all product lines for GlobalWafers. High capacity utilization rates are being maintained, supported by the company's global manufacturing network and cross-facility support mechanisms.

Operational Recovery: Regarding the fire at the Italian Novara plant in July, recovery efforts are progressing faster than anticipated. The facility partially resumed operations on September 14, with epitaxial processes already restarted to fulfill shipments, minimizing the short-term impact on customer supply.

Financial Strategy: GlobalWafers recently completed a US$1.432 billion Global Depositary Receipt (GDR) issuance, significantly strengthening its financial structure and capital flexibility. Additionally, the company continues to advance its U.S. solar energy expansion in partnership with United Renewable Energy to capture new market opportunities.
