Contact lens maker Pegavision achieved a record nine-month EPS of NT$20.09, with management projecting strong growth for the first quarter of next year.
What Happened
Record Earnings: Pegavision reported a Q3 net profit of NT$540 million, up 36% year-on-year, with an EPS of NT$6.96. Cumulative net profit for the first nine months reached NT$1.556 billion, a 29.7% increase, resulting in an EPS of NT$20.09, nearing the total profit for the entire previous year.
Operational Analysis: Q3 consolidated revenue hit a record high of NT$2.24 billion. Although gross margin dipped slightly compared to Q2 due to seasonal electricity pricing and the ramp-up of new production capacity, operating profit still grew by 31.1% year-on-year.
One-off Factors: The company noted that Q3 EPS was slightly lower than Q2, primarily because Q2 included a one-time settlement payment of NT$34 million for raw material quality issues, alongside minor foreign exchange losses in Q3 that reduced non-operating income.
Future Outlook: Looking ahead, Pegavision reports strong market demand. The company expects Q1 performance next year to outperform the same period this year and potentially exceed Q4 of this year, though results will remain subject to seasonal impacts from the Lunar New Year holiday.
