Nan Ya Plastics reported a net profit of NT$3.168 billion for July, a 337-fold increase year-over-year, driven by strong demand for electronic materials.
What Happened
Profit Surge: Nan Ya Plastics announced its July financial results, reporting a monthly revenue of NT$30.57 billion, up 44.5% year-over-year. Net profit for the month reached NT$3.168 billion, a 337.8-fold increase compared to the same period last year, resulting in an EPS of NT$0.4.
Electronic Materials Growth: The strong performance is largely attributed to robust demand from the AI industry, which has led to a supply shortage for electronic materials. Nan Ya has successfully capitalized on this by raising prices and increasing capacity utilization to over 90%, with electronic materials now accounting for 57% of total revenue.
Diversified Product Performance: Beyond electronic materials, the company's polyester and plastic processing segments have also seen improvements. Rising raw material costs have allowed for price adjustments, while demand from the automotive, footwear, and home appliance sectors in China has provided additional support to monthly revenue.
Future Outlook: Looking ahead to the third quarter, Nan Ya expects growth to remain centered on electronic technology applications, including polyester films and epoxy resins. The company plans to continue optimizing its product mix and adjusting production volumes to navigate ongoing supply chain constraints.
