Taiwan Cement and Asia Cement both saw revenue growth in September, driven by strong overseas contributions and a recovery in the cross-strait market.
What Happened
Revenue Growth: Cement industry leaders Taiwan Cement and Asia Cement both reported year-over-year revenue growth for September. Taiwan Cement achieved monthly revenue of NT$14.321 billion, up 7.62%, while Asia Cement reached NT$6.719 billion, a 5.1% increase.
Taiwan Cement's Overseas Momentum: Taiwan Cement attributed its September revenue growth primarily to strong performance in overseas markets. Its subsidiaries in Turkey and Portugal benefited from both increased sales volumes and higher prices, contributing significantly to the company's overall results.
Asia Cement's Market Recovery: Asia Cement saw a 20.2% month-over-month increase in September revenue, driven by higher concrete sales in Taiwan and investment income. Additionally, a recovery in both sales volume and pricing in the mainland Chinese market provided a boost to its operations.
Cumulative Performance: For the first nine months of the year, Taiwan Cement's consolidated revenue reached NT$113.048 billion, up 3.3% year-over-year, while Asia Cement's cumulative revenue was NT$50.414 billion, down 5.1%. Despite the slight decline in Asia Cement's cumulative figures, the strong September performance indicates a gradual recovery in market demand.
