Taiwan's active ETF market has expanded rapidly, with recent capital shifts favoring high-dividend and technology-focused funds amid changing market trends.

Market Expansion: The active ETF market in Taiwan has seen significant growth, with the number of funds rising from 17 at the end of last year to 41, and total assets under management reaching NT$1.01 trillion. Despite this growth, shifting market sentiment in the second half of the year has led to notable changes in capital allocation and fund rankings.
Capital Flow Analysis: Among the 12 active ETFs with over NT$20 billion in assets, domestic equity funds dominate. Funds such as CTBC Taiwan Income and Nomura Taiwan 50 have experienced the most significant growth, driven by attractive dividend payouts, with growth rates of 858.2% and 126.2% respectively.
Performance Divergence: Amid market volatility, only a few active ETFs have outperformed the broader market, notably Cathay Momentum High Dividend, Capital Tech Innovation, and Nomura Taiwan 50. Conversely, overseas-focused active ETFs have faced downward pressure due to global market corrections.
Investor Preferences: There remains a strong investor appetite for quarterly dividend distributions, highlighting the demand for steady cash flow. As upcoming dividend evaluations and ex-dividend dates approach, market attention remains focused on the sustainability of these payout levels and yields.
