Profitability: Shin Kong Financial Holding (2887) reported that its core subsidiary, Shin Kong Life, achieved an adjusted profit of NT$73.7 billion for the first half of the year. This figure includes a net profit of NT$22.5 billion and NT$51.2 billion in gains from FVOCI stock disposals, with unrealized financial asset gains reaching nearly NT$90 billion.
Operational Turnaround: The life insurance unit has successfully transitioned to a positive interest spread environment, with pre-hedging recurring yields rising to 4.19% while liability costs dropped to 2.3%. This improvement marks a significant milestone in the company's long-term financial recovery.
Business Growth: First-year premiums (FYP) grew by 37% year-on-year to NT$73.7 billion, with foreign currency policies accounting for over 70% of the total. The Contract Service Margin (CSM) balance has reached NT$293.6 billion, providing a stable foundation for future earnings.
Strategic Outlook: Management plans to focus on overseas bond investments and high-value insurance products to maintain long-term stability. The company expects its TIS ratio to remain between 125% and 130% as it continues to align with regulatory capital requirements.
