Huang Chang Construction and Changhong Construction have secured the development rights for the Dazhi 'Ruyu' and 'Cangxi' urban renewal projects in Taipei.
What Happened
Project Award: The Taipei City Residential and Urban Renewal Center has successfully awarded the 'Dazhi Ruyu' and 'Dazhi Cangxi' public urban renewal projects to Huang Chang Construction and Changhong Construction, respectively. These developments are expected to generate over NT$22 billion in total real estate value through high-standard architectural upgrades.
Architectural Features: The 'Ruyu' project will utilize SC steel construction with Gold-level green building certification, focusing on human-centric design and green spaces. Meanwhile, the 'Cangxi' project will feature SRC construction and smart building technologies, prioritizing structural safety, seismic resistance, and community-friendly pedestrian corridors.
Background and Context: The renewal initiative was triggered following construction-related damage caused by a neighboring project in 2023, which compromised the structural integrity of local residences. The city government intervened to facilitate the renewal process, conducting extensive community outreach and adjusting tender conditions to ensure successful developer participation.
Future Outlook: Both developers are committed to enhancing neighborhood safety and connectivity through improved disaster prevention measures and integrated green corridors. Final project specifications and valuations remain subject to official review and the formal rights conversion plan.
