Equipment Procurement: ASE Technology announced that its subsidiary, ASE Semiconductor, will purchase automated optical inspection (AOI) and automated visual inspection (AVI) equipment from its affiliate, Machvision. The transaction, valued at NT$334 million, was approved by the board and follows standard procurement procedures to ensure competitive pricing.
Supply Chain Resilience: The company stated that partnering with Machvision leverages the supplier's technical expertise and robust after-sales support. This strategic move is designed to stabilize equipment supply and mitigate potential risks within the semiconductor manufacturing supply chain.
Advanced Packaging Expansion: Driven by strong demand from AI chipmakers and cloud service providers, ASE has seen a significant influx of orders, including overflow from TSMC. Consequently, the group's capital expenditure for this year has surpassed the US$10 billion milestone, reaching US$10.5 billion.
