Samsung Asset Management has listed a new TDF ETF focused exclusively on domestic assets, allowing for 100% allocation in retirement accounts without currency risk.
What Happened
Product Launch: Samsung Asset Management officially listed the 'KODEX Korea TDF 2065 Active' ETF on the 25th, a fund designed to invest exclusively in domestic stocks and bonds. The fund targets a 2065 retirement date and automatically adjusts its asset allocation based on the investor's lifecycle.
Investment Strategy: During the early investment phase, the fund maintains an equity allocation of approximately 80%, gradually shifting toward safer assets as the 2065 target date approaches. The equity portfolio focuses on core KOSPI assets and key sectors such as semiconductors, AI, defense, and shipbuilding.
Regulatory Advantage: Following a recent regulatory amendment, this fund qualifies as an 'eligible TDF,' allowing investors to allocate up to 100% of their retirement account (DC/IRP) assets without being subject to risk-asset limits. Furthermore, the exclusion of foreign assets eliminates currency hedging costs and provides tax exemptions on capital gains for domestic stock investments.
Market Flexibility: The fund actively manages the ratio of stocks to bonds and adjusts bond duration in response to changing market conditions and economic cycles. This approach provides a stable retirement planning solution that avoids the volatility associated with foreign exchange fluctuations.
