What Happened
IPO Market Activity: AI-based autonomous drone developer Nearthlab and semiconductor sensor fabless firm Htech are scheduled to list on the KOSDAQ market next week. The two companies enter the public market with contrasting valuations after institutional demand forecasts yielded results at the top and bottom of their respective price ranges.
Nearthlab's Entry: Nearthlab successfully priced its IPO at the top of its target range at 41,200 KRW, reflecting strong investor confidence. The company, which leverages autonomous flight technology for wind turbine inspections and defense projects, recently achieved its first quarterly operating profit.
Htech's Challenges: Conversely, Htech faced a lukewarm reception from institutional investors, resulting in a final offering price at the bottom of its range at 23,000 KRW. The firm specializes in 3D magnetic sensor SoCs and is currently working to expand its footprint into the automotive and robotics sectors.
Upcoming Subscription: Meanwhile, digital healthcare startup Sky Labs is set to open its general public subscription for shares on August 26-27. Known for its ring-type blood pressure monitoring device, the company plans to utilize the IPO proceeds to advance its R&D into blood glucose and lipid measurement technologies.
