Yulon Motor faces market headwinds amid intense competition, while its subsidiary Chailease Holding maintains steady growth through effective risk management.
What Happened
Yulon Motor Performance: Yulon Motor reported a net profit of NT$755 million for the first nine months of the year, with an EPS of NT$0.72. Facing stiff competition from imported vehicles, the company is pivoting toward energy and overseas business segments to diversify its revenue streams.
Market Dynamics: The domestic automotive market is currently dominated by imported vehicles, which now account for 55.5% of total sales. Luxury vehicle sales have surged by 43.7% year-on-year, putting significant pressure on domestic manufacturers and forcing strategic adjustments.
Chailease Holding Results: Chailease Holding achieved an EPS of NT$5.79 for the first three quarters, marking a slight increase over the previous year. Growth was driven by robust performance in the used car segment and successful expansion into Southeast Asian markets, including the Philippines and Malaysia.
Risk Management: The company attributes its stable profitability to disciplined risk management, which has led to declining delinquency rates in both mainland China and Taiwan. Improved asset quality and successful debt recovery efforts have further strengthened the company's bottom line.
