Foreign investors continued their selling streak in the Taiwan market, dumping over NT$73.5 billion in shares and trimming positions in major ETFs amid semiconductor weakness.
What Happened
Market Downturn: Following a sharp decline in U.S. semiconductor stocks last Friday, TSMC shares faced significant pressure, closing at NT$2,330, the lowest level since late July.
Institutional Activity: The three major institutional investor groups collectively net sold NT$52.69 billion today, with foreign investors extending their selling streak to three consecutive days with a net outflow of NT$73.52 billion.
Portfolio Adjustments: Foreign capital was heavily pulled from popular ETFs such as CTBC Taiwan Yield and Yuanta Taiwan 50, while buying interest shifted toward Innolux, Foxconn, and China Airlines.
Outlook and Analysis: Analysts suggest that while AI-related tech earnings remain robust, the market is undergoing a rotation toward lower-valuation sectors; investors are advised to monitor the New Taiwan Dollar's depreciation as a key indicator for further foreign capital movement.
