Eternal Materials announced a 38.64% year-on-year increase in pre-tax profit for the first seven months of 2024, driven by strong demand in the electronics sector.
What Happened
Year-to-Date Performance: Eternal Materials reported a pre-tax profit of NT$2.026 billion for the first seven months of 2024, marking a 38.64% increase compared to the same period last year. Earnings per share before tax reached NT$1.73, despite a year-on-year decline in July profit due to a high base effect from asset disposal gains in the previous year.
Revenue Growth: July revenue climbed to NT$4.093 billion, representing a 23.86% year-on-year increase and a 6.82% monthly rise. Although inventory destocking impacted gross margins, the company's operating profit for July surged by 282.02% compared to the same period last year, highlighting strong core business performance.
Electronics Sector Demand: The company noted that demand for dry film photoresists, silicon microspheres, and advanced semiconductor packaging materials is rising steadily. This growth is supported by the recovering PCB, ABF substrate, and semiconductor industries, which have helped optimize the company's product mix.
Future Outlook: Management expects a strong second half as precision equipment enters a peak acceptance phase, likely driving monthly revenue growth throughout the third quarter. Furthermore, shipments of advanced semiconductor packaging materials are scaling up according to schedule, providing a solid foundation for continued expansion.
