Taiwanese construction firms Root, Dahsin, and Ruentex are reporting record profits driven by a massive influx of tech sector factory construction orders.

What Happened

Tech Factory Boom: Driven by aggressive expansion in the tech sector, construction firms Root, Dahsin, and Ruentex are seeing a surge in orders. These companies have secured significant contracts for wafer fabs and tech facilities, with project visibility extending into next year.

Strong First-Half Earnings: Root reported a first-half net profit of NT$1.159 billion (EPS NT$8.89), while Dahsin achieved NT$1.632 billion (EPS NT$6.5), and Ruentex posted an EPS exceeding NT$5. All three firms have achieved profits nearing or exceeding their total annual figures from the previous year.

Operational Strengths: Root excels in high-margin rail and factory projects, while Ruentex leverages precast construction methods for semiconductor facilities. Dahsin remains the leader in order backlog, with nearly NT$100 billion in projects, focusing heavily on factory construction.

Positive Future Outlook: With AI-driven demand for new facilities and ongoing government infrastructure projects, the construction trio remains optimistic. Both Dahsin and Ruentex plan to increase their focus on tech factory construction to ensure long-term profit growth.
