MediaTek subsidiary Airoha reports strong momentum in optical communications and Ethernet, projecting significant growth for its high-end product lines in 2025.
What Happened
Optical Communication Outlook: Airoha is seeing strong demand for its optical communication products, with its PAM4 DSP and TIA chips adopted by top-tier optical transceiver module manufacturers, fueling expectations for multi-fold growth next year.
Technological Advancements: The company has successfully ramped up production for its single-channel 50G products and begun shipments of 100G chips, while development of next-generation 200G solutions is underway with a target design-in by late next year.
Broadband and Ethernet Strategy: Airoha's 10G PON business is thriving in North America, while its Ethernet segment is benefiting from low-earth orbit satellite ground equipment demand and the mass production of new PHY and switch chips.
Strategic Initiatives: By acquiring a stake in Yuan Cheng Semiconductor, Airoha aims to accelerate product validation and time-to-market, while also expanding its footprint in the high-end business headset market, which is expected to double in revenue this year.
