GreenTrans, a subsidiary of CMC, introduced its GT5X and GT3X quadruped robots at SEMICON Taiwan 2026, aiming for 100% local production by 2027.

What Happened

Product Launch: CMC subsidiary GreenTrans officially launched its GT5X and GT3X quadruped robots at SEMICON Taiwan 2026. The new series offers high scalability, allowing for the integration of thermal imaging, gas detection, and AI visual recognition modules based on specific mission requirements.

Technical Autonomy: The R&D team, comprised of former CMC technical staff, leveraged automotive-grade expertise to develop the robots. Key components, including the Autonomous Mobile Robot Control Unit (ACU) and Battery Management System (BMS), were designed in-house and passed stringent cleanroom testing standards.

Strategic Partnerships: To enhance autonomous capabilities, GreenTrans collaborated with Ennoconn to adopt the NVIDIA Jetson Orin platform and utilized NVIDIA Isaac Lab for reinforcement learning. Additionally, the company partnered with Formosa Smart Energy to develop high-safety lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery systems.

Future Outlook: GreenTrans is committed to establishing a core domestic robotics ecosystem by localizing battery, motor, and electronic control production. The company aims to achieve a 100% local manufacturing rate by next year, expanding applications beyond flat surfaces to stairs and unstructured environments.
