AscenTech is scaling up its automated FAU production capacity with a NT$1.54 billion investment to meet rising demand for 3.2T and 6.4T optical components in AI data centers.

What Happened

Production Expansion: AscenTech is investing approximately NT$1.54 billion between 2026 and mid-2027 to build high-precision automated production lines for Fiber Array Units (FAU). A significant portion of this capital expenditure, totaling NT$1.08 billion, is dedicated to acquiring advanced production and testing machinery to support CPO product manufacturing.

Strategic Funding: The company has been deepening its expertise in silicon photonics and related patents over recent years. Following the construction of cleanrooms and automated lines in late 2025, a successful NT$3.16 billion capital increase in February 2026 has provided the necessary financial foundation to sustain this aggressive capacity expansion.

Delivery Roadmap: Regarding product rollout, AscenTech expects to begin delivering 3.2T FAU products in the third quarter of this year based on client specifications. Looking ahead to 2027, the company plans to expand its portfolio to include both 3.2T and 6.4T FAU products to address the evolving needs of high-speed data transmission.

Market Outlook: Analysts suggest that as AI data centers continue to upgrade their high-speed optical architectures, AscenTech’s proactive investment in automated production and testing equipment positions it well for future growth. These strategic moves are designed to ensure the company is fully prepared for the anticipated surge in demand for CPO-related components.
