The Taiwan Stock Exchange and Bloomberg have signed a strategic partnership to enhance Taiwan's global visibility, foster index innovation, and develop local financial talent.
What Happened
Strategic Partnership: The Taiwan Stock Exchange (TWSE) and Bloomberg have signed a Memorandum of Understanding during 'Taiwan Weeks 2026' to forge a strategic alliance. The collaboration focuses on four core pillars: increasing global visibility, accelerating capital market development, driving index innovation, and fostering the growth of the asset management sector.
Enhancing Visibility: Bloomberg has integrated the TAIEX into its platform to provide global investors with real-time market data. Furthermore, the 'Bloomberg x TWSE Power Up' program will assist mid-cap listed companies in strengthening their investor relations and gaining better access to international institutional investors through advanced analytical tools.
Index and Talent Development: The two entities will continue to co-develop thematic and multi-asset indices, building on the success of existing ETFs. Additionally, they plan to establish a 'Financial Lab' to provide students and young professionals with hands-on experience in financial data analysis, aiming to cultivate a pipeline of internationally-minded financial talent.
Market Outlook: TWSE Chairman Sherman Lin stated that the partnership bridges Taiwan's industrial strengths with global capital market competitiveness, supporting the goal of becoming an Asian asset management hub. Bloomberg's Asia-Pacific Chair Bing Li noted that the initiative underscores their long-term commitment to the Taiwan market and the future of its financial ecosystem.
